The Night That Changed Everything

One night, it was 2 AM in a busy ER. A man rushed in.

He couldn’t breathe. His heart was beating too fast.

I had to make a quick decision.
He needed to be put on a breathing machine right away.

This needed multiple nurses to set up. They were busy.
Pulling them away would delay other critical patients.

The other option was giving him strong medications.
They had problematic side effects.

If they didn’t work, he would still need the breathing machine.

I decided to give him medications right away. This was risky.
But not doing anything would be much worse.

That’s when I learned something important.
This lesson changed how I see problems at work and in life.
